Review - Parineeta

I watched the flick Parineeta last night and I liked it a lot. Its a beautiful love story beautifully told. The cinematography is awesome. The sepia tones add the perfect touch of nostalgia. And the performances were absolutely captivating and endearing. The story has undertones of Devdas, after all, it was written by the same author Sharath Chandra Chatterjee. But in comparision to the recent rendition of Devdas this is unquestionably better. In Devdas I felt the chemistry between the two was very faint and emotions were lost somewhere in the suffocating grandeur of the scenes. But here though the love between Shekhar(Saif) and Lolita(Vidya) is unspoken and underplayed, it is there for all to see and is obviously very intense. There are moments of love and integrity that are spellbinding and touch your heart.
The music score is good as well. Kind of reminds you of 1942-A love Story.

Normally I can't watch a movie for the second time. But this is one of those movies I can watch again and again.

If you haven't watched it already, it is a must-see.
